Padma Shri Shri D R Kaarthikeyan
Former Director – CBI, NHRC, CRPF
Padma Shri D. R. Kaarthikeyan is a distinguished Indian Police Service officer, best known for serving as the former Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), former Director General of the CRPF, and Director General of the National Human Rights Commission. He was conferred the Padma Shri in 2010 for his outstanding contributions to public service.
Beyond his illustrious career in law enforcement and governance, Kaarthikeyan ji has been actively associated with numerous educational, humanitarian, and spiritual organisations as a trustee, advisor, chairman, and mentor. A long-time practitioner of meditation, he advocates its transformative impact on holistic well-being and compassionate living. Closely connected with several spiritual organisations and masters across the world, he is widely regarded as a bridge between public service, spirituality, and human values.
A longstanding well-wisher of Darpan Foundation, Kaarthikeyan ji inaugurated Darpan Ashram’s first Saadhak Kuteer. His continued encouragement and guidance have been a source of inspiration for Darpan’s journey.
Dr Ajai Kumar Singh
Director General and Inspector General of Police(Rtd), Karnataka State
Dr. Ajai Kumar Singh holds Master’s degrees in Political Science and Hindi, along with a PhD and D.Litt. in Hindi. A distinguished Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1974 Karnataka cadre, he served in several key positions over a career spanning more than three decades, retiring as the Head of the Karnataka State Police Department.
Following his retirement, Dr. Singh served on a Commission appointed by the Supreme Court of India. He has also been actively associated with several NGOs, contributing to Police-operated helplines for women, children, and senior citizens.
A prolific scholar and litterateur, Dr. Singh’s doctoral thesis was published as a book. He is also the author of two collections of Hindi poetry and has translated the works of numerous Kannada poets into Hindi, including those of H. S. Shivaprakash.
Dr. Singh has been a well-wisher of Darpan Foundation since its inception. Along with Shri D. R. Kaarthikeyan ji, he inaugurated the first Sadhak Kuteer and library at Darpan Ashram, marking an important milestone in the Foundation’s journey.
Shri Jitendra Kumar Ojha
Former Joint Secretary, MEA
Shri Jitendra Kumar Ojha is a retired Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer who served for nearly 26 years with the Cabinet Secretariat and the Ministry of External Affairs, including as Joint Secretary, Government of India. During his distinguished career, he handled complex issues relating to geopolitics, diplomacy, national security, and governance, contributing to India’s strategic engagement at the highest levels.
A widely respected thinker, author, and public intellectual, Shri Ojha is known for his pioneering work on statecraft and his concept of Indocracy — an indigenous framework of democratic governance that seeks to integrate India’s civilizational wisdom with contemporary institutions to build a more resilient, humane, and effective model of governance. His writings and lectures span geopolitics, leadership, governance, diplomacy, and national security, offering a holistic perspective on India’s role in an evolving global order.
Following his retirement, Shri Ojha continues to lecture, write, mentor, and advise on issues of diplomacy, governance, and strategic affairs, inspiring scholars, policymakers, and young leaders with his vision of an India rooted in its civilizational ethos while confidently engaging with the world.
